Wine Labels

Even our label art is produced here on the farm! Since those first vintages in 1989, our label has sported “the brushstroke”. It is the creation of co-owner and resident artist, Seyburn Zorthian. Much of Seyburn"s work, including the label, is influenced by her experience in Japan studying with a Sumi (abstract brush stroke) master. And what does it mean? Well, that depends on whom you talk to. Some think it is an abstract image of a grape vine, while others just see it as a strong dynamic movement. Seyburn isn't saying either way!

The brushstroke has been on our labels in various iterations over the past few decades, overlaying and complementing a piece of art from one of Seyburn’s paintings. In 2013, we are excited to announce the release of “The Artist Series” of labels! Each wine will have a unique painting that Seyburn has chosen for that particular wine. Our specialty wines – Zingy, Devin, Trevin, BW and P.O.S.H. each feature a label with an iconic swish of Seyburn’s brush and the initial(s) of that wine.
